Artist Statement
Margaret Doyle
I live at Newtown, Darver, Readypenny, Dundalk, Co. Louth. I was born in 1929. I took a great interest in classical and traditional music and taught for Ceoltas Eireann for many years. I took up painting as a hobby and pastime. My mother who was French was very talented at crafts and I’m sure influenced my artistic talents. Most of my paintings are landscape on both board and canvas of many sizes. I paint as I see it, I draw scenes when sight seeing and my memory does the rest. My favourite artist is local man Padraic Lynch . I like his style of painting and how he can give a picture a reality as if you were there.
