About Aclint Forum

Aclint Art Forum was founded in 2000 by a group of local Irish artists who met originally in Aclint Community Hall to practise their art and to learn from each other. Out of this grew an annual art exhibition, which is now patronised by about forty artists.

The exhibition held in 2005 saw nearly three hundred pictures hung on our walls. While the forum has just about twenty members you can see that a much larger group is catered for through the showing of their works on these occasions.

We have quite a good success in the sale of our artists work with 50% of displayed art sold at last September’s exhibition. A large number of exhibitors have each had at least one commission placed with them over the five years of our existence. Thus we are very pleased with the reaction to our shows both locally and on a broader front.

Our artists paint in oils, watercolours and acrylics and mainly cover landscape, architecture, animals and still life.

The next exhibition of paintings will be held in Aclint Community Hall on Sunday 14th September 2008. It will be officially opened at 15.00 hours. It will continue daily from 13.00hours - 22.00hours until Saturday 20th. We are very grateful to Mr Enda Matthews -scion of the Matthews dynasty of teachers Reaghstown for officially opening our eighth annual exhibition of paintings.

We are very grateful to Louth County Council for supporting this website.
